Swing and A Miss

Caleb started T-Ball this week and before we stepped foot on a field, he climbed the fence. Hmmm? Wonder how many times I'll have to say this in my life: "Get off the fence." Squirrel, sorry. Caleb's first at bat; he swings with all his might and misses. WIthout hesitation or tears, he swings again and nails it to second for a base run.

Conrad started potty training this week. He tried sitting on it, but that wasn't working, so like the "real man" he is, he stands over it and pees into the basin. We thought this was impressive until he pooped standing up, too, and it landed on the tile beneath his buns.

A near miss for each, but misses nonetheless. I argue the miss, rather, was an opportunity that each took without thinking to try again and succeed.

Today's Prayer: "A small lesson, but a lesson nonetheless, to not only preach as parents, but to practice what we preach. Thank you for our children, they remind us of what is right."
